Cottonwood Group (“Cottonwood”) is a real estate private equity investment firm with robust in-house investment, development and operating capabilities. Founded in 2012, Cottonwood delivers exceptional risk-adjusted return by capitalizing on its diverse team of diligent and creative professionals with extensive experiences in real estate, private equity and capital markets. Headquartered in Los Angeles, Cottonwood also has offices in Boston and New York.

As an active U.S. real estate investor, Cottonwood specializes in alpha returns through investments with special opportunity characteristics. These may include master-planned, ground-up development, value-add, re-positioning, transitional and distressed real estate assets. To cater to individual investors’ demand for exposure to diverse asset classes, Cottonwood brings full capital stack flexibility to our investments, including debt, equity and in selected cases, both.

Investments

Investments are made principally through the Firm’s discretionary fund and separate accounts. Our capital partners include both U.S and international institutional capital, Global 500 institutions and family offices. As of Q3 2019, Cottonwood managed an AUM of $3 billion.

Since inception, we have invested, financed and developed landmark projects in, but not limited to, Boston, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, Las Vegas and Seattle. Some of our representative investments can be found here.
