Vice President - Credit Group

The Vice President role includes primary responsibility for the successful execution and management of large, commercial real estate financings, working closely with other senior investment professionals to manage and grow our portfolio of loans (i.e. first and second lien, mezzanine) and other real estate investments and to monitor and manage their performance, including through participation in restructuring and recapitalization.

Detailed Job Description
  • Conduct due diligence and underwriting for loans, including review of entitlements, environmental reports, construction budgets and schedules, financial projections, appraisals and other relevant documentation; prepare underwriting memos and present findings;
  • Coordinate pre- and post-closing transaction processes; work with legal counsel, appraisers, auditors, consultants and other deal service providers;
  • Coordinate review of loan funding requests, working with construction consultants, loan servicers and other service providers;
  • Actively monitor and report on the performance of borrowers and on their compliance with the terms of loan documents and other legal agreements;
  • Closely monitor and report on the day-to-day performance of existing assets, including properties in lease-up and post-stabilization; and
  • Develop and maintain financial projections for each asset; analyze management accounts and financial statements and report on variances; prepare quarterly reports to investors.
Required Qualifications/Skills
  • No less than 8 years’ experience, in aggregate, in asset management with a commercial or investment bank or a real estate fund or development company or in consulting with a focus on real estate or other hard assets;
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting; strong analytical skills and Excel modeling skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team; ability to prioritize effectively; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong professional writing skills; strong interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Strong academic credentials from a top-tier university; concentration in finance preferred.

The Associate role includes responsibility for financial analysis and modeling and preparation of investor reporting/presentations, working closely with senior investment professionals to manage and grow our portfolio of loans (i.e. first and second lien, mezzanine) and other real estate investments and to monitor and manage their performance, including through participation in restructuring and recapitalization.

Analyst - Credit Group

The Analyst role provides exposure to a wide variety of subject matter, including financial analysis and modeling and preparation of investor reporting/presentations, in each case supporting senior investment professionals responsible for our portfolio of loans (i.e. first and second lien, mezzanine) and other real estate investments.

Detailed Job Description
  • Review a variety of documentation (offering memorandums, business plans, etc.) and draft summary for review by other team members;
  • Draft and review certain client facing documentation such as marketing materials and project summaries;
  • Participate in the management of projects (including coordination with lawyers, consultants, and internal parties);
  • Support team with necessary data entry and general administrative support including independent research, memo drafting, and project management;
  • Strategize, discuss, and provide insight with senior team members to come up with solutions for complex financing and business scenarios; and
  • Certain advanced administrative matters that might be required from time to time (e.g. documents repository management).
Required Qualifications/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering preferred. Exceptional and highly analytical candidates with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in humanities (i.e. English, History, etc.) are also welcomed;
  • Motivated, resourceful, self-starter with strong work ethic;
  • Strong analytical ability;
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, problem solving and organizational skills;
